Requirements

- At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or at least 5 years in the last 10.
- Clean driving record, FMCSA Clearinghouse, DOT physical and drug screening.
- Live near or relocate to the Metuchen / Woodbridge, NJ area.
Schedule / route
- Over-the-road · Team run
- Typically home weekly. This is an on-call position. You must be available to work a flexible schedule and say YES when called upon. This position requires being on the road for up to a week at a time with a co-driver. Mileage depends on available runs.

Responsibilities
- Safe linehaul driving
- Transport freight safely between FedEx facilities, following traffic laws and company safety procedures.
- DOT hours of service · Motive
- Comply with applicable DOT/FMCSA hours-of-service rules. Keep accurate duty-status records and review and certify your logs in the Motive ELD app.
- Vehicle inspections
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete required inspection reports, and promptly report equipment defects.
- Trailer connections
- Safely couple and uncouple trailers and doubles as assigned. Check connections, air lines, lights and brakes before departure.
- Dispatch communication
- Confirm assignments with dispatch and communicate delays, road conditions, availability and remaining legal driving hours.
- Trip records
- Verify trailer numbers and seals, and complete required trip, mileage and fuel documentation accurately.
- Safety and professionalism
- Promptly report incidents, breakdowns and unsafe conditions. Keep equipment orderly and work respectfully with dispatch, terminal staff and other drivers.
