CDL Class A Part-Time / Fill-In Driver

Responsibilities

Safe linehaul driving

Transport freight safely between FedEx facilities, following traffic laws and company safety procedures.

DOT hours of service · Motive

Comply with applicable DOT/FMCSA hours-of-service rules. Keep accurate duty-status records and review and certify your logs in the Motive ELD app.

Vehicle inspections

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete required inspection reports, and promptly report equipment defects.

Trailer connections

Safely couple and uncouple trailers and doubles as assigned. Check connections, air lines, lights and brakes before departure.

Dispatch communication

Confirm assignments with dispatch and communicate delays, road conditions, availability and remaining legal driving hours.

Trip records

Verify trailer numbers and seals, and complete required trip, mileage and fuel documentation accurately.

Safety and professionalism

Promptly report incidents, breakdowns and unsafe conditions. Keep equipment orderly and work respectfully with dispatch, terminal staff and other drivers.
